Welcome to Syston Methodist Church

Church Opening

It has been agreed at a meeting of the church stewards and the Worship Committee to re-open the church for Sunday morning worship commencing on Sunday 2nd May. It will also be open on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday morning of each month, at 10am to hold a Holy Communion Service.

The Church has to adhere to the strict guidelines as set out by the Government and the Methodist Church.

So What Does That Mean?

Well, we are still restricted to a congregation of 24 at each service, so as previously arranged you will need to contact Alan on 0116 2692752 so that he can allocate you a seat, we are still having to record all names and contact numbers for the track and trace system. Masks must be worn at all times, hand sanitizers are available at all entrances and must be used, social distancing must be maintained and you must remain seated at all times. Entry to the Church is via the link door and after the service you will be directed by the steward on duty to exit via the choir vestry door, down the passageway to the main steps. If you require the use of the lift then please speak to the steward on duty

Until this time, we will still hold two Zoom services each week, one on a Sunday morning at 10:30am and the second one on a Wednesday at 6:00pm.

If you would like an invitation to these services please fill in this form and we will get back to you.

An Inclusive Church

We believe in inclusive Church - church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.

An Active Church

There is a lot happening and you are welcome to be part of anything and everything that we are.

You might be looking for Sunday Worship. If so then we are informal and enjoy sharing worship together. Our morning services at 10:30am include activities for children who are always welcome. Our evening services follow a mixture which includes more traditional Methodist worship as well as other styles including: quiet, cafe, contemporary, and healing.

We have a weekly service of Holy Communion, every Tuesday at 10am for about 40 minutes.

We have a monthly Messy Church on a Friday from 6pm to 8pm which starts with a meal. It is for whole families and all ages with lots of noisy and fun sharing food, crafts, mess, games and worship. See our Syston Messy Church page on Facebook for more details.

See our activities and events pages for loads more stuff.
