Welcome to Syston Methodist Church

It is with great regret that, due to the spread of the Corona virus and mindful of the advice issued by Government, we have decided to suspend all Services of Worship and the majority of other activities on the premises for the time being. This includes the Lent lunches, the Lent study courses and the Syston lunch club.

For those confined to their homes there are services, both live streamed and ‘Worship at Home’ sheets available on the Methodist website www.methodist.org.uk.

Following a meeting of the church stewards, the pastoral visitors and Rev Daniel Yovan, arrangements are in hand for the pastoral visitors to contact you individually to help those without access to the internet to obtain the worship sheets, and to help keep in touch with all members during this difficult time.

There will be a service of Worship at Birstall Methodist Church this coming Sunday 22nd March. Finally we ask you all to pray for each other and to keep a lookout for the needs of friends and neighbours.

An Inclusive Church

We believe in inclusive Church - church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.

An Active Church

There is a lot happening and you are welcome to be part of anything and everything that we are.

You might be looking for Sunday Worship. If so then we are informal and enjoy sharing worship together. Our morning services at 10:30am include activities for children who are always welcome. Our evening services follow a mixture which includes more traditional Methodist worship as well as other styles including: quiet, cafe, contemporary, and healing.

We have a weekly service of Holy Communion, every Tuesday at 10am for about 40 minutes.

We have a monthly Messy Church on a Friday from 6pm to 8pm which starts with a meal. It is for whole families and all ages with lots of noisy and fun sharing food, crafts, mess, games and worship. See our Syston Messy Church page on Facebook for more details.

See our activities and events pages for loads more stuff.
